This past week, I was picked for Jury Duty, not only that, I was chosen to sit on the jury. It sure was one long week!

I'm glad to get back to the store, I really appreciate Denise working her off days for me and for Joy who dove right in there and worked Thursday and Friday for me. I really have some great friends!

We are just around the corner from McDonough's Christmas Open House, Sunday, November 2nd so we have been working like crazy to get things ready and the store is really starting to take on a holiday feel. Christmas is already starting to sell, since we have a lot of one of a kind pieces.

We also have a lot of great antique furniture pieces at incredible prices with
Lay-a-way available

After working all weekend on the store, I finally have it half way organized. The Christmas room will officially open this Friday, October 10th with new/old things coming in daily.

Plus...

our newest dealer, Denise has some great antique pieces she bought in Germany while living there and is now downsizing and bringing in what she doesn't have room for anymore. You will see some of these on this weeks blog.

The Plum Tree will be participating in McDonough's annual Trick or Treat event on October 31st from 3:00 until 5:00 or until the candy runs out. We had a lot of fun last year watching all the kids and the great costumes you Moms came up with. I hope the weather is cool!
Also...
as a reminder, McDonough and it's merchants will be hosting our annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, November 2nd. The Plum Tree will have an array of refreshment, plus a drawing for a $30.00 Plum Tree gift certificate and a $30.00 gas card plus other prizes!

I will hold off with new photos this week since the store looks like a storm swept through. Today three dealers dropped off huge loads of everything from photos to Furniture. When I asked them to be sure to bring in Holiday, they never let me down and from what I could see in the boxes there's a lot of really cool one of a kind and vintage Christmas pieces.

And thanks to Joy, we will have a great tree to hang all of our new ornaments from. She was on the lookout for a Christmas tree at a great price and I will be darned, if she didn't find one with lights and all.
I will continue to transform the front room into a winter wonderland just in time for the first Christmas Open House, November 2nd. The kitchen painting will finish up this coming week as well and hopefully there will be some order to the store once again.

Don't forget, my friend Wendy is having her annual Fall Open House this Saturday from 9:00-6:00 so make a trip out there to see all of her great new finds and be sure to check out her blog at http://www.mswendysantiques.blogspot.com/. The weather will be cool and the treasures will be abundant.
