Leaves in the Fall come tumbling down

It's that time of year, soon the leaves will start turning brilliant colors of red, orange and brown and birds will start packing their bags to head south. I love this time of year, the sights the smells & the anticipation of the beauty God will be sending.
We are set up for fall with lots of cute decorations from pillows to pumpkins and I have been busy painting the kitchen, which I have longed to actually utilize.
We are also looking for new dealers so if you are interested in selling your wares at the Plum Tree, come on in lets talk about it.
Remember November 2nd is McDonough's Holiday Open House and if you have never attended or haven't for a while, make this the year you do.
Plum Tree will be serving great refreshments, will have lots of unique and one of a kind Christmas decor and a few surprises as well. Details coming soon!
I also want to remind everyone that we are still collecting cards for soldiers, please see side bar. Our deadline for collections will be November 1st. Remember all who participate will be put in a drawing for a $30.00 Plum Tree Gift Certificate. All donations can be dropped off at the Plum Tree.
Have a great weekend, hope to see you soon!
Not too scary, these smiling ghost candle holders are perfect for your fall porch decor.

It's always hard to say good bye

The Plum Tree is losing a great husband and wife team at the end of September. Tammy and James Cottrell who have been dealers at The Plum Tree for a very long time will be moving out at the end of the month. This of course is very sad news for us, however the good news is that Tammy has gone into a business partnership and will now be co-owners in a well established florist in Jonesboro. Some of you know this, but for those of you that do not, Tammy is a talented floral designer and has been for several years, and although we will miss her and James and of course their great finds, you can now find Tammy at...

One Rose Florist
9411 South Main Street
Jonesboro, Ga. 30236
770-478-8020
“If you can dream it, we can make it come true”

We wish you all the best in your new endeavor.

From now until the end of the month, Tammy has marked her items 50% off, so please come by and check it out!

This week I am taking a little blog break because I have been painting at the store and giving the kitchen a whole new look, plus we will be transforming our entire back bedroom into a Christmas wonderland just in time for our first Holiday Open House on November 2nd.

Next week I will be giving little sneak peeks of the holiday items we will have for sale so don't delay, for the best selection, hurry on in!

Remembering September 11, 2001

God Bless America
This week we are remembering the heroic men and women who risked their lives and sacrificed so much so that others would survive. They and their families are in our thoughts and prayers along with all the other selfless men and women of our Law enforcement, and Armed Forces. Because of them we feel more secure from future attacks upon this land that we love so much.
Please take a moment and thank a law enforcement officer, fire fighter, enlisted men and women and others at local, state an federal levels for their part in making us The Home of the Free !

The men and women of 9-11 were prepared to do anything to save the lives of others, they do not consider themselves hero's, they would say they were "just doing their job".

Whether it is to go into battle, walk into a burning building, come upon a violent situation, they never back down.
And to all the others who lost their lives so senselessly, this salute is for you!

Support from Home

Sponsoring “Cards For Soldiers”

Hello- I’m Joy, better to known to some as the “Garden Fair-E” at The Plum Tree. I am in the middle of a large push to collect items for Soldiers overseas. The Pike County 4-H and football fans are bringing in needed items.

So in support of our Troops, we are asking for cards of support for the troops as well as cards they can mail back home. This is where we came up with the idea to have a Card Collection for the troops.

It will be a way for you to support the troops and be creative at the same time. Cards can be store bought, hand-made with or without a note inside .
We will be collecting all donations at the Plum Tree or you can mail them in. Drawings will be held for all the folks who have participated, (Deadline to be announced) with a grand prize of a $30.00 Gift Card for the Plum Tree.

If you would like more info on the site that I am a part of – go to http://www.booksforsoldiers.com/. Other popular items we will be collecting are: Drink mixes, hygiene items, books, DVDs, magazines, hard candy, games (card games, word puzzles Etc.).

The majority of the requests are from young men- so that should be your target audience. I want to thank Cindy, she has been very helpful and encouraging of my support of American Soldiers. Also if you have a soldier that needs a care package, please send me their name and I’d be proud to send them one.
Remember- We are the Land of the Free because of the Brave

I really appreciate the dedication that Joy has for our troops, she does what she can as often as she can and it is my pleasure to honor her request. And I want to thank all of you ahead of time for your support. You can contact Joy through the Plum Tree at...theplumtreeantiques@yahoo.com

This week, I am featuring some of the new furniture pieces I acquired over the weekend. Some pieces I have already sold, and still some more to come in. If you see something you can't live without, I will be glad to hold it until you can get in.

This is a beautiful marble top oak wash stand, however it would look great as a buffet if you have limited space.
