Story of The Garden Fair E.

We have a lot of fun at The Plum Tree, and if it's true that laughing is good for you, we are all in pretty good health. I have met some of the greatest people being here and we all have a lot of fun. I want the store to be where anyone can come in and immediately feel at home.

I know I have said it before, but everyday I feel more and more blessed to have this store. I love coming to work, and I wish I had done it years ago. I realize now that we are not only an antique store, we are also a store where you will find just about anything from vintage to garden to antiques. We have some new, some handmade and it all seems to work together.

I also have a Garden Fair E. She is one of the hardest working, creative and talented of all fairies.

Take a look at the following pictures and you will see a transformation taking place. I can't wait to see what else she has in store.

The porch is beginning to look so pretty with all the spring plantings and other wonders of nature.

Today Fair E worked the front flower beds adding this incredible little Japanese maple. Even the garden statuary takes on a better look being surrounded by plants.

The old bicycle basket has been planted with ferns, and herbs which are already draping over the sides. Also planted here are morning glory seeds to twine up and around the porch.

Fair E. has been busy putting together some of her unusual planters too. The red tool box and typewriter from last weeks blog have already sold.

Here her newest creation, a fishing tackle box filled with lots of succulents.
In the following photo, you can see it sits in front of an antique french wire plant stand on wheels &

following that is an old craftsman tool box planted up, ready to go into your garden. Some more of my favorites...handmade from found objects I just love these signs!
See the boot...what a catch!

The folks from Emily's Attic stopped by today and invited us to attend their "Tax Relief Sale" which will be held on Friday, April 18th and will be open until 10:00 PM.

How generous is that? No tax !!!

Be sure to stop by

~ Thanks Laura ~

I have to admit this has been the most exciting weeks we have had at the store since the holidays. All of the dealers have been in with some incredible finds, some that barely made it in the door before they sold and others that have helped transform the store into an Enchanting Spring Delight.

We have a lot of exciting events coming up in the next few weeks that I will talk about at the end of the blog, plus I will send reminders as the time gets closer.

I hope you enjoy this weeks blog.

Hope to see you soon!

Devon just brought these in today, they are boxwood wreaths made from real plants and then preserved. These come in three sizes and look great hung over a mirror.

Small

Medium
Large

What could be prettier then these framed fern prints. This table scape would look perfect on an outside covered patio or screen porch.

Wendy brought me some incredible metal chandeliers from Ms. Wendy's. This one looks so pretty on the porch, with it's spring flowers. Click on the picture for more detail.

Thriller~Filler~Spiller, that is what Joy creates when she plants a container. The Thriller is the tall piece that grows upward like this dainty fern, the filler is moss, or a low growing plant of your choice and the spiller is the trailing ivy. All together they build a very pretty arrangement.

Has anyone ever seen a Craftsman tool box look more beautiful then this? Another creation by Joy.

Here is another beautiful metal chandelier from Ms. Wendy's. The picture does not do it justice. Again click on the photo for more detail.

Brenda has potted up some more of her wonderful Hypertufa planters this one is filled with fragrant lavender.

Our newest artist I told you about last week, has brought in a few more of her wonderful bird themed collage plates. This one is so Beautiful

Deborah brought in this sweet bird nest from her home, it is truly amazing how much care is taken in molding a nest like this. Take a closer look and see if you can spot the skeleton leaves.

Cute corbels cut in half to create these wonderful aged bookend
Tammy and James are a very talented duo. At one time this old armoire probably had a damaged veneer or mirrored door, They used scraps of old wood to create not only a new door, but a whole new look as well.

Old Prescription files

Antique Oak Chest of Drawers

Cute white shelf or bookcase
