Those were the days!

Lately I have been reminiscing about the old days, to me those started in the year I was born, 1954.
A lot happened in the 50's, McDonald's dominated the industry serving hamburgers, fries, cokes and shakes. The cost of first-class mail was three cents until 1958 when it increased a penny for the first time in 26 years.

People had money and liked to spend it. Credit was also made possible to buy the American Dream. ~ "Keeping up with the Joneses."~

Television shows like I Love Lucy, Ozzie and Harriet & Father Knows Best visualized Mom at home with a pretty dress and freshly laundered apron and heals no doubt, taking care of the kids, keeping a spotless home and cooking delicious meals for her family while her husband comes in from a hard days work with "Honey I'm Home, What for Dinner?"
So that leads me to this weeks blog, things that are reminiscent of those days, when kids were gone all day and knew to come in when the street lights came on. Could go swimming as long as you took an older brother or sister along to save you in case you got a cramp from swimming too soon after a meal and jumping off the bridge just because your best friend did!
And for those of you who are not that old yet just wait, you too will one day talk about "The Good Ole Days"

Enjoy!
