Support from Home

Sponsoring “Cards For Soldiers”

Hello- I’m Joy, better to known to some as the “Garden Fair-E” at The Plum Tree. I am in the middle of a large push to collect items for Soldiers overseas. The Pike County 4-H and football fans are bringing in needed items.

So in support of our Troops, we are asking for cards of support for the troops as well as cards they can mail back home. This is where we came up with the idea to have a Card Collection for the troops.

It will be a way for you to support the troops and be creative at the same time. Cards can be store bought, hand-made with or without a note inside .
We will be collecting all donations at the Plum Tree or you can mail them in. Drawings will be held for all the folks who have participated, (Deadline to be announced) with a grand prize of a $30.00 Gift Card for the Plum Tree.

If you would like more info on the site that I am a part of – go to http://www.booksforsoldiers.com/. Other popular items we will be collecting are: Drink mixes, hygiene items, books, DVDs, magazines, hard candy, games (card games, word puzzles Etc.).

The majority of the requests are from young men- so that should be your target audience. I want to thank Cindy, she has been very helpful and encouraging of my support of American Soldiers. Also if you have a soldier that needs a care package, please send me their name and I’d be proud to send them one.
Remember- We are the Land of the Free because of the Brave

I really appreciate the dedication that Joy has for our troops, she does what she can as often as she can and it is my pleasure to honor her request. And I want to thank all of you ahead of time for your support. You can contact Joy through the Plum Tree at...theplumtreeantiques@yahoo.com

This week, I am featuring some of the new furniture pieces I acquired over the weekend. Some pieces I have already sold, and still some more to come in. If you see something you can't live without, I will be glad to hold it until you can get in.

This is a beautiful marble top oak wash stand, however it would look great as a buffet if you have limited space.

Hi Joy!
I love this! I am doing a post on 9-11 and will link your blog for "Cards for Soldiers"! THank you for doing such a great thing!
I always love coming to your blog and poking around your antique store. I have the brown & cream floral plaster plaque that hangs in your shop, one of my favorite possessions.
Big hugs, Sherry
