Fall is really here!
McDonough's Fall Festival
& Chili Cook-Off make it official!

I am rich today with autumn's gold,

All that my covetous hands can hold;

Frost-painted leaves and goldenrod,

A goldfinch on a milkweed pod,

Huge golden pumpkins in the field

With heaps of corn from a bounteous yield,

Golden apples heavy on the trees

Rivaling those of Hesperides,

Golden rays of balmy sunshine spread

Over all like butter on warm bread;

And the harvest moon will this night unfold

The streams running full of molten gold.

Oh, who could find a dearth of bliss

With autumn glory such as this!

Ecclesiastes 3:1 ~ To everything there is a season . . .

A message from Dawn:

How true this beautiful chapter and verse is in the Bible. I feel as though my life sometimes comes in chapters as well. One chapter ends and a new one begins. Our lives definitely have seasons.

I've been an antique store owner now for the last three years and had such a wonderful time. It was an honor to take over an established business, enjoy meeting all of you great customers, develop new ones and experience the thrill of having my very own store.

About a year and a half ago Cindy came on as my business partner and was, and still is, an absolute blessing to me. She made things HAPPEN! The outside of the shop was painted and freshened. The flower beds were cleaned and straightened up. And best of all, Cindy shared working at the store with me. We have alternated weeks and it really has been such a great situation.

But now, the time has come for me to move on, to follow my BLISS and let Cindy take over my part of the store starting the first of November. But the best blessing is, I will still sell my wares in The Plum Tree but now I will have more time to create. To sew, paint, collage, search for cool old things and basically do what I truly enjoy doing. I will be taking the entire front bedroom at the store as my own and will be keeping it stocked with my finds. I will also continue to update the blog for you so you can keep up with all that's new here at the store.

So, sweet friends, wish me well as I move on to this new season and chapter. I'm thankful for the past but hopeful for the future!
