Nostalgia . . .

: a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to
or of some past period;

For all antique lovers, that feeling is what drives us, true? Even if we didn't actually live in that time period, we still appreciate the items that were used back then.

For Cindy and I both, the images used on labels, books and even the fonts that were used on the covers of books, sheet music and other printed items evoke a feeling of a sweeter, gentler time. When things in this world weren't moving quite so fast, people rocked on their porches in the evenings watching children chasing lightning bugs, or walked to the dime store where the clerk knew you by name or even took the time to sit down and write a letter to a dear friend.

Nostalgia is what drives us as antique lovers, always looking for that special something to remind us of times past.

I'd imagine if I lived near you I would haunt your store every chance I could get. It looks beautiful. And Georgia, one of those places I've always dreamed of visiting or moving to... must be beautiful.

I just love visitng your shop ladies! I go back in time to turn of the century on a warm Saturday afternoon in June in Georgia. I browse and enjoy the wonderful company and the beautiful atmosphere that is gentile and refined....I am sipping a sasperella and munching on homemade ginger snap. They smell of violets and roses fill the air. See...I go back to another place when I visit here. Beautiful! Thanks!
