Changes are Coming

I know it is probably the coldest it has been in a while, however we are already in Spring mode at the Plum Tree. Since there are so many of you that love gardening and the vintage garden look, we have decided to create a year round garden oasis right inside the store. I have already asked my dealers to start looking for neat vintage garden pieces from planters to swings and everything in between and believe me when they get assignments they don't dally.
So watch as our garden starts to grow & the weather gets toasty warm.

We have a new artist at the Plum Tree, I am excited to introduce you to Crystal of My Felt Food.

Crystal came to me and asked if I might be interested in offering her line of wool felt food in the store. Of course I am always looking for new artists to promote so I said sure. I was so excited when I saw her actual pieces and have to say the are already selling quite well.

She designed these pieces for the Plum Tree which we call the Plum Tree tea.

Each piece is handmade and are really a work of art, she even made a plum tea teabag.

I have to brag a little this week about one of my dealers. Deborah aka The Tattered Cat is not only a finder of great treasures, she is also a great friend. This past week Deborah came down and along with Joy we went to Americasmart for the January show. After two days of walking showroom after showroom and floor after floor, Deborah still stayed on and worked with me in the store all day Sunday before heading home three hours away at 9:00 PM.

A lot of our customers remember Deborah from Lakewood Antiques and still come to the shop just to see what she has brought in. I am lucky to have her as a dealer and even luckier to have her as a great friend.

Below is a necklace that Deborah created out of old pieces of found objects. She is working on more so stay tuned. The pictures do not do this piece justice.

Thank you Deborah!

It just goes to show you that you and others like you have no talent and have to copy those of us who do I hate people like you

Well, well, well. I guess some sad people never change “Anonymous”. At least you could change the wording or tone of your post a little from the last “rant” you went on. But, hey, that was another site, another time, but this sure does sound like the same ‘holier than thou’ approach. I do feel sorry for you. You assume you have talent and originality, but the truth of the matter is you are a small minded person who hides behind allusions of grandeur.

To anyone else that happens upon this blog, let me first point out that Cindy has a great deal more character and integrity than other blog owners that would (and did) take down negative posts just as soon as they appeared on their site. If for no other reason, Cindy, I salute you for leaving Anonymous’ post on your blog. I assure you that anyone with even the slightest bit of insight will see Anonymous’ post for what it really is. A sad commentary on a sad person’s perspective on life and their importance in the big scheme of things.

Now, for those of you who have not been to Plum Tree or not had the privilege of meeting Cindy or any of her dealers, I encourage you to do so even if it takes you a little out of your way to do so. She has created an atmosphere where you want to meander. A place where you can find unique items, both large and small. But more importantly, it’s a place where you feel comfortable, both in your surroundings and in the company you’ll be lucky to keep. And always remember that you’ll be with a person of character, not someone that hides behind the ability to post hateful things under an ‘Anonymous’ moniker.

I always am amazed at hateful people who have plenty to say but are gutless about posting their name. Every accused has the right to face their accuser- Don't you watch "Law and Order"? I am confident that what ever idea or talent you feel you have -you saw it somewhere else first. If you don't have something nice to say- just go away.

Cindy and Deborah-- Keep up the good work. The store looks fantastic.

I feel I need to comment on the post from Anonymous simply because I do not understand what caused them to write what they did. I truly believe that everyone has a special talent, I know a lot of creative people which is one reason I feature a lot of new artist on my blog. I don't think anyone owns the patent on creativity since each piece that is made is created with different eyes, hands, and mind so each piece will always reflect who you are. The same goes with decorating, when a designer writes a book and puts it out there for all to see, there is bound to be someone that loves their style and will try to imitate it. Is this copying? In a way it is, however they will not have the same fabric, the same furniture or accessories so they add their own touch to create a similar look and in the end they have actually created their own style. So if you really feel I or anyone else associated with my shop is copying you, it only means we admire your creativity.
