Joy made me the sign below, I can't imagine why, just because I have a thing for cats. Anyway I hung it on my fence over a faux window ~ it now serves as a neighborhood advertisement.

Here are just a few of my babies, Clarence the big guy, found me at the store, Plum also from the store (not shown) stays away from this group, he does not like to get in trouble. My latest rescues, Skeeter is the orange tiger and skooter is the baby gray. That's indoors, outdoors there is Dixon and Cocoa, they just sorta showed up, maybe they saw the sign....This summer, I had the opportunity to meet many of my regular customers families. It's always nice when someone says "a visit is not complete until we come to the Plum Tree."

I also appreciate all of the genuine complimentary remarks about the store, it makes me so proud and encourages me to keep doing what I can to make sure you will always find just what you are looking for.

This week, I finally got some of the furniture pieces into the store I recently purchased, and I must say, it's a good thing my house is small, otherwise they would have never made it here.

I went to an auction recently and found this great 1920's wood trimmed sofa, upholstered in black and white. It's really a pretty piece and very comfortable, I believe the upholstery is fairly new.

Technology

I decided this week I just had to write a bit about technology.

It all started with a young boy who came in with his Mother and upon seeing an old time dial telephone, he asked quite innocently "Mommy, what's that?"

After telling him it was a telephone, his face twisted with a look of Huh?

And so it goes, in another 30 years from now someone will come into an antique store and see a cell phone and ask "Mommy what's that?"

But my real complaint today is about computers. Last night mine would not allow me to get into my own blog. If you are like me, you think if you hit enter twice it will go twice as fast or if you hit it real hard it knows you mean business!

No, all it means is that you are at the mercy of technology and sometimes that is really hard to take.

So my apologies for the blog being late again, and hope you enjoy looking at some of the new pieces that have come in this week.

The Plum Tree finally has a permanant header

If you have been getting the Plum Tree Blog for a while, you probably noticed that I can not make up my mind regarding the header. I'm not trying to confuse everyone by having a different one every time you open it up, and now you won't.

I have the most amazing friends and sometimes wonder what I have done to deserve them or the things they do for me. Well the other day one of the greatest guys I know, Frank Smith presented me with the most wonderful gift, an original painting of The Plum Tree.

The detail on this painting cannot be captured on my camera, but believe me he did not miss a thing. The painting is incredible and so very thoughtful ~ Thank you Frank~
